Hello, My name is Nathan Macik and I am the owner and artist behind Forged in Fowl. My silversmithing journey started in 2018 when I began working for a small jewelry shop in Crawford, Texas, in high school. Three years later, I attended Texas Tech and began working for the leather company, Fowler Hide Supply. Cameron and Drew Peters (the owners) quickly got me into the sport of waterfowl hunting. I had no experience and very quickly fell in love with sandhill crane and goose hunting. Shortly after, in 2024, my dog Hans (pudelpointer) and I began guiding hunts in the Lubbock area. A year later, I began to have the opportunity to start making a few custom silver pieces, and I quickly realised no one was catering to the most passionate group of hunters out there. In the spring of 2025, I established Forged in Fowl and began working full-time in the off-season while still attending Texas Tech. Today I have graduated and am working every day to build quality pieces that last a lifetime while continuing to guide hunts in the winter months.
